(HR) Stevenson je napisao Otok s blagom kad je vidio da njegov nećak vodenim bojicama slika zemljovid otoka. Počeo je smišljati imena za otoke: Otok kostura, Brdo dvogled, dok konačno nije u gornjem desnom kutu stranice napisao “Otok s blagom”. Poslije duge bolesti (“četrnaest godina ni jednog jedinog dana nisam bio zdrav”, napisao je), umro je na otoku Upolu u južnom djelu Tihog oceana, gdje je u to vrijeme živio. Što mislite, je li našao blago na tom otoku?

(EN) Stevenson wrote Treasure Island when he saw his nephew paint a map of the island with watercolors. He began to come up with names for the islands: Skeleton Island, Binoculars Hill, until he finally wrote “Treasure Island” in the upper right corner of the page. After a long illness (“I was not healthy for a single day for fourteen years,” he wrote), he died on the island of Upolu in the South Pacific, where he lived at the time.
